Alien Discovery
Chapter One
" Dr. Smith, what do we do now?", asked one of the head
nurses, while looking down at Dr. Brackish Okun's unconscious body.
" He's stable all we can do is wait, but for a while there I thought
we were going to loose him. Why don't you go get some rest, there's nothing
more to be done here."
Turning around, the nurse left the infirmary and another woman walked in.
Moving over to stand next to Dr. Okun, she gently took his hand in hers.
Dr. Smith was observing her with a faint smile.
" Dr.Smith, will he be all right?" She spoke with deep concern.
" I don't know Anna. His physical injuries are few, but the psychological
ones, well we aren't sure if he'll regain consciousness."
Dr.Smith began rubbing her eyes and let out a yawn.
" Doctor you look exhausted. Why don't you go get some rest. I want to
stay with Dr. Okun for a while. If anything changes I'll let you know."
" Thanks Anna." With that the doctor left the infirmary and Anna was
finally left to concentrate on Brackish. With his hand still in hers, she
pulled a chair over that was close to the bed and sat down. Looking up at
him, she studied his face. This was only the second time she had seen him
without his glasses. The first time was her doing. Anna began recalling the
memories of the few months that she had been working with Dr.Okun.
..........
Anna Staiton was the youngest person working at Area 51 and because of
that she was often treated like a little child. She had dirty blonde hair
that was always perfect, green eyes, and an hour glass figure, the rest
of the scientists would usually tease her by calling her 'Barbie.' Anna never
really cared for that, but since she knew, deep down, that she was smarter
than the rest of them, well everyone accept Dr.Okun, she didn't really let it
bother her.
Speaking of Dr.Okun, he was one of the only people who didn't tease her,
at least not at first. Brackish Okun was a very serious scientist, never
letting anything interfere with his study of the alien vessel. He wasn't
a bad looking man, if you could get past his odd style of dress. Dr.Okun
was a very hard worker, a perfectionist and he pushed everyone until they
measured up to his standards.
It was Anna's first day and she was being shown the ropes as it were
with two other new people. They all met at Dr.Okuns' office, that being
the first time she had the pleasure of meeting him. One of Dr.Okun's
assistants had to search for him and they stood at his door waiting for
thirty minutes.
Finally he appeared from around the corner and personally greeted
each one of the new workers with a smile and hand shake. Anna couldn't
help but be drawn to his hands, they were so perfect. She didn't realize
the group had started to move and was forced to run to catch up with them.
To soften the blow of what they were about to see, Dr. Okun took them first
to the Alien ship. Then they headed off to the storage unit. Once they were
all standing in front of the tanks, Dr. Okun turned the key and waited for
the shocked faces he was about to see. With Anna being the only girl and so
young, he was expecting her to be the most frightened and became surprised
when she wasn't shocked in the least by what she saw. The other two however,
grew quite pale and very sick.
After their interesting tour, the three were sent back to their rooms to
finish settling in before they would begin their individual projects and be
assigned to a scientist. The following day Anna was happy to find out that
she was going to be working personally with Dr.Okun. For some reason or
other his last secretary left and even though Anna was a scientist, she was
happy to just get the chance to work with him, no matter what the job. This
way she would be working at the heart of everything.
When Anna first started working with Dr.Okun, her tasks were simple, but
the longer she was there, the more she learned, the more work he had her do.
Now she was no longer just a recording secretary, but he had her helping with
some of the repairs and would even ask her advice on some things.
...........
In the beginning Anna was very shy and watched everything she said and
did but, as time went on she became more bold. Anna was a teaser at heart.
Once they started calling her Barbie, that was it. Anna would do small
things to tease those that called her names and her light- heartedness made
the tension, usually present in the work room, rather light.
The only person she dare not torment was Dr. Okun. She liked him a lot,
and normally would have started flirting with him by now, but he was so into
his work, at times he didn't seem to notice her. He was too serious, so she
thought.
One day, while Anna was working on the ship, the rest of the scientists
were all teasing her as usual. If they weren't tickling her, they pulled
on her pony-tail, and someone pulled the scrunchy out of her hair. As this
was going on, Dr.Okun entered the room and watched them with no expression
on his face. Spotting him, she ran in his direction, hoping to be shielded
from the attacks. Everyone saw the look on Okun's face and froze waiting for
his reaction. Anna stopped in front of him and turned around to stare at
her attackers, when a grin spread across Dr. Okun's face and he reached his
hands around the sides of her waist and tickled her. After the tension broke
he yelled for everyone to get back to work.
From then on Anna was plotting to get him back for his little stunt. The
next day, she served him his coffee, cold. Looking at her, he just smiled.
His smile was so warming that Anna made up her mind to do what ever it would
take to get him to notice her.
Dr. Okun often worked considerably longer in the evenings than anyone
else, so Anna began working later herself, hoping that spending more time
with him would help. Since she began working evenings, Dr. Okun taught her
more about the Alien craft and took her to see the inside. He worked so
hard, that they were lucky to get four hours sleep on a good night.
They developed a very good friendship as the months passed. They not only
ate lunch together, but went to some social events together, when she could
pull him away from his work long enough.
.........
Sitting there, watching Brackish's body, so lifeless in the infirmary,
stirred a particular fond memory.
Chapter Two
Dr. Okun was seated behind his desk working at the computer, when he
heard a slight knock on his door.
" It's open."
The door opened and Anna entered carrying some papers.
" Aren't you finished yet? You've been working on that same thing for
five hours now."
He looked away from the screen and she handed him the papers. Placing
them on the table behind him, Brackish started to feel the ache in his
back and shoulders from sitting in the same place for so long. Trying to
stretch and relieve some of the pain didn't work. Anna decided not to let
a good opportunity pass.
" Back hurt?", she asked.
" What......Yeah, just a little." He tried stretching again and Anna
walked over behind him.
" Here, let me help."
She slowly started to massage his shoulders, pressing her thumbs into the
back of his neck, while kneading the knots out of him. Brackish sighed at the
release of tension. Anna took that as her cue to continue. She began moving
her hands up and down his back, pressing hard enough to hear him moan.
" If you take your lab coat off, it'll make it easier for me to apply
more pressure."
Only half aware of what was going on, due to the extreme pleasure he was
feeling, Brackish took off his coat. Anna then proceeded to rub his back,
moving her hands down a little lower with each pass. Finished, she walked
around in front of him. Brackish was completely relaxed and sat back in his
chair, oblivious to what was going on around him. Anna slowly kneeled on the
ground so that she would be eye level with him in the chair.
"Do you feel better?"
Without thinking he answered," Yes, That felt wonderful."
Moving her hands up to his face, she removed his glasses, seeing him for
the first time. Still dazed, Okun just sat there. Placing his glasses on the
table behind her, she turned to face him.
" You have the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen."
With that she gently brought her lips to his. Since Brackish didn't push
her away, she moved her hands up to his face and slowly opened his mouth
with her fingers. Probing his mouth with her tongue, she felt his arms close
around her and his tongue enter her mouth willingly. Brackish couldn't
remember the last time he had kissed somebody like that. It felt so good
having her pressed up against him, her tongue dancing with his. He never
wanted to let go.
Leaning back, Anna broke the kiss. Brackish, realizing what had just
happened, quickly reached his arm around her and grabbed his glasses off
the table. He pushed the chair back and stood up, walking to the other side
of his office, he turned to face her.
" I'm sorry Anna. I don't know what came over me," he said, face red with
embarassment. She could hear the confusion in his voice and slowly got to
her feet. Walking over to him, she took his hands in hers.
" Don't be sorry. I started it. It's not your fault I like you so much. I
shouldn't have taken advantage of you." She released his hands and turned away from him.
" Can you forgive me. I promise I won't do it again."
Brackish studied her for a moment and thought back to the passionate kiss
they just shared. He stared at her and for once began to notice how
beautiful she was. Why didn't he notice her before. Then he answered his own
question " I was to involved with the alien research." Being with her for
only a moment stirred feelings in him, feelings he forgot even existed. If
she really liked him that much, he wasn't going to let her go.
He slowly walked up behind her. Placing his hands on her arms, he turned
her around to face him. He took his left hand and cupped her face. Using his
thumb he traced her lips and brought his own to hers. Pressing his tongue
into her mouth, he felt her hands sliding over his chest. He pulled her
closer to him and her hands were dancing on his back. As their tongues
played, she moved her hands down to his firm buttocks and squeezed it
ever so gently, causing Brackish to moan.
This time he had no intentions of letting this kiss break, until he
heard a knock at the door. Startled they let each other go and turned to
face the door. Dr. Smith entered.
" Brackish, do you have any idea what time it is? I've warned you about
working late. You've even gone and had this poor girl working late. I'm
giving you both ten minutes to lock up and I'm putting you on medical leave
for a day. If I even see either of you, especially you Dr. Okun, near this
office or that alien thing tomorrow, I'll put you on medical leave for a
week. Do I make myself clear?"
Brackish just looked at her with a wicked grin and shook his head.
Dr. Smith stormed out of the room. It was all they could do to keep from
laughing in her face. It's a good thing Dr. Smith left, because they both
started laughing so hard they fell on each other.
After catching their breath, Brackish was the first to speak.
" Well, I guess we'd better lock up before she comes back."
" That's was a close call. Dr. Okun why is she always so angry with you?"
He shut off his computer and turned out his desk lamp. Walking back to
Anna he put his arms around her, looking her in the eyes.
" First thing, I don't want you calling me Dr. Okun anymore, it's
Brackish. Second, she gets mad at me for not getting enough rest."
Anna rapped her arms around his waist and pushed her cheek to his chest.
" Well what do we do know," she said with a sigh.
" How about if I walk you back to your room. After all we have a whole
day we can spend with each other tomorrow."
Chapter Three
Of course that day never came. The Aliens were attacking and they
needed Brackish. Still staring at him, Anna was growing more angry by
the minute. She loved him, he finally noticed her, and they did this. She'd
kill everyone of those Son of a Bitches for hurting him.
Anna had been running from those aliens since she was a child. First they
killed her family, her world and just when she thought she found a planet
that was safe, they invaded earth and hurt the man she loved. She wasn't
going to let them get away with it. The president may have stopped the
invasion, but she wasn't going to loose Brackish.
Being a Terrian did have it's advantages. She had the ability to control
things with her mind and she had the power to heal. Anna hadn't used them
for awhile, but she was sure as hell going to try. She hoped that Brackish
would understand her, even if she was an Alien of sorts.
The first thing she noticed was the swelling in his throat and the red
burn marks from the alien tentacles. Raising her hand to his throat, a green
glow started to appear. Using her strength, she reduced the swelling in his
throat and removed his burns. She wanted to heal him completely, but thought
it would cause suspicion.
Now to wake him. Still holding his hand in both of hers, she reached out
to him telepathically. 'Brackish' She found him standing in a cloud of gray
darkness. Pushing through the cloud she grabbed his hand and pulled him
through, breaking free from their connection when she felt him return. Now
quite weak from what she had done, Anna couldn't keep her eyes open any
longer. She collapsed.
..............
Brackish awoke. He sat up to see and made out the figure of a woman
lying across his lap. He reached his hand down and lifted her head, realizing who it was.
" Anna...... Anna, wake up." She didn't move. " Don't do this to me,"
he said while shaking her," I need you." Finally she started to squirm
and opened her eyes. She saw Brackish trying very hard to focus in on her.
" Brackish, how do you feel," she asked softly.
" Except for a few bruises and the fact that I can't see, I'm fine."
Anna moved away from Brackish, giving him the chance to sit up and swing
his legs over the side of the bed. Still very weak, Anna started to fall
and Brackish reached out for her, drawing her towards him, preventing it.
He sat her on the bed next to him and placed his arm around her.
" Anna, I need you to tell me something."
" Sure, What do you want to know?" She rested her head on his shoulder.
" I remember everything that happened to me while the alien had control
of my mind and body and I know that my throat was hurt. I could still feel
the pain until just before I saw you in the fog of my mind and somehow
brought me out of my confusion. What happened?"
She was afraid to tell him. She didn't think that he would remember
what happened and she could have blamed it on the aliens, but now she would
have to think of something. She loved him too much to lie, so she would just
have to chance the truth.
" Brackish, if I tell you the truth you must promise me that you won't
say anything."
He looked at her a little confused and nodded his head in agreement. For
the next 50 minutes she told him the story of what happened to her people,
her planet, and how she was the only survivor. He thought she was just afraid
and joking so he shook his head and smiled.
" You don't believe a word I'm saying, do you?"
He gave her a half hug.
" Anna , I know your frightened. The whole situation was scary, but it's
over know. The aliens are dead and things will eventually go back to normal,
well I guess as normal as they can get around here. Just tell me the truth."
" I am telling you the truth," she shouted," I guess the only way to
convince you is to give you some proof. See that cup over there on the sink?"
She pointed over to the plumbing on the other side of the infirmary.
" I'm going to turn the water on and fill that cup. Then I'm going to
bring it over here and you're going to drink it." He just looked at her.
" Anna, I can get up and do that to. You just need to calm down," he said,
patting her with a reasuring hand.
" I know you could get up and do that, but I'm not going to."
With that final statement, she closed her eyes in a deep state of
concentration. Slowly the water turned on and the glass lifted from the
counter, then under the rushing water, filling itself. In one quick
movement, the cup flew across the room and was suspended in front of them.
Brackish couldn't believe what he was seeing. He knew there weren't spots on
his glasses, because he wasn't wearing them.
" Go ahead Brackish, take it." He did as she asked and reached for the
cup, taking it in his hands. He couldn't believe that the woman he had
fallen in love with was an alien. An alien. He almost dropped the cup, but
his scientific mind told him interactions with an alien race could prove
beneficial.
" OK Anna, I believe you, but don't use you powers around anyone but me
until I say it's safe. These people are all afraid and they don't understand
you the way I do. They'll want to make you pay for what happened if they
find out."
A smile lit her face and Brackish felt his heart reach for her again.
" You should call Dr.Smith and tell her I'm awake, before she goes crazy."
.........
Anna called Dr.Smith and she came immediately, checking over every inch
of Dr. Okun, before declaring him healthy.
" Ok, Dr. Okun you can leave now, but only to go back to your room and
get rest for at least a week. It's going to take some time for the military
to clean up the mess, so they won't need you right away."
Agreeing with the doctor, he headed for his quarters with Anna following.
...........................
Reaching his room, Brackish motioned for Anna to go in first and then
followed, locking the door behind him. He didn't say anything to her but
instead walked right past her like she wasn't there and went into his
bedroom.
" Brackish, if you don't want anything to do with me anymore, I
understand. I know my being an alien must be a lot for you to handle, but
I cared to much for you to lie and I couldn't let you die."
Standing in his room for a minute, he began thinking about the woman.
The alien woman that was now sitting in his living room. No matter how
hard he tried to ignore the situation he couldn't help it. He loved her.
" Anna, I'm not angry with you and I still care for you," he said with
a sigh.
"But now that you know I'm an alien, what are you going to do with
me," she asked with concern.
" I don't know. I think I'm just going to have love and protect you
even more."
